N

Type N — Nicrosil / Nisil Thermocouple

Nicrosil (Ni-14.2%Cr-1.4%Si) / Nisil (Ni-4.4%Si-0.1%Mg). Developed as an improved alternative to Type K. Silicon additions stabilize the alloy structure and eliminate green rot. Preferred for long-term service above 1000°C.
